What Is Recreational Music Making (RMM)?
Recreational Music Making (RMM) Students RMM is:
  • a great way to connect with others
  • about fun, personal expression, and satisfaction
  • making music in a relaxed learning environment for the sheer joy of it!
RMM is not:
  • focused on technique and perfection in playing
  • performance-oriented, it is process-oriented: fun and relaxation are key!

RMM is not about inspiring extraordinary music,
it's about inspiring extraordinary living.

See a mini-documentary about RMM.

Have you have always dreamed of playing an instrument?

Did you use to play when you were younger and have a desire to play again?

Maybe you just simply need a relaxing and fun activity to release you from everyday life?

My RMM classes may be just the thing! Come and learn to play your favorite songs in a fun, stress-free environment.

But don’t I need talent to learn to play the piano in an RMM class?

No! I truly wish the word “talent” had never been joined with the phrase “making music” — if it hadn’t there’d be a lot more people in the world playing an instrument and enjoying themselves!

It’s like tennis and golf – no special talent needed, just a desire to do it. Talent, training, and musical competence are not required for an RMM class. Just bring yourself, and a willingness to learn, persevere with patience, and, most of all, to have fun!

Am I too old to learn to the play the piano?

It's never too late and you are never too old to learn to play the piano. RMM is specifically geared toward adults who want to learn how to play now and want to have fun doing it. In RMM you learn music you’ve always wanted to learn how to play. You’ll learn how to read music, and play chords, but it’s music you prefer rather than what the teacher prefers.
